“Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see.”
I was in the woods, it was a camping trip with troop number 666. I was super excited to be with all of my friends. The troop leader this year were three older scouts, they were seniors in high school, instead of someone’s father. We had all of our cots, tents, etc. and we drove down in three vans. At the time we were all 12 years old, and all had a passion for the outdoors.
We arrived at campsite, Hanana. It was really neat but there was an eerie feeling to it. There was just miles of woods with nothing else in sight, usually when we go camping there’s also a lodge. But this time just a lake and trees, with nothing else in sight. When the older scouts gathered us together they said that we would be the only one’s camping here for the weekend. We then traveled to the campsite.
The campsite was ideal for a boy scout, flat land surrounded by trees on the plateau of a hill. We settled down and made camp. We hung all of our food up and then got into our bathing suits to go swimming. The lake was so much fun, we got to swing into the lake. The older scouts even jumped into the lake too. We played sharks and minnows.
Once we got back to camp we got dressed for the late night bonfire. That is when camp got really spooky. It started off really fun, cooking hot dogs, and roasting marshmallows. However, the older scouts started telling stories about previous 666 troops, they themselves were troop 331. Apparently they stopped troop 666 after the 1980 massacre where all of the scouts and the counselors were found dead at the sight. They reinstated the troop in 2013, my troops year. They tried to reassure us by saying they searched and cleared the campground. We went to the tent and fell asleep, nothing happened that night.
The next day was spent very similarly, except at night the counselors sent us right to bed because they said there was another troop that wasn’t supposed to there. We woke up to yelling. Our whole troop walked out the tent and saw the older scouts running towards us, except there were only two. “Pack up, get to the vans!” We got to the vans but the tires were slashed! What! That’s when I heard a gunshot and one of the older scouts fall. Then I saw a group of 11 giant people emerge from shadows, my troop was slaughtered one by one, then I went too. I woke up drenched in sweat. Everyone was sound asleep.
